Robert "Bert" Steele, founder of Niwot Market, dedicated his life to the community and the grocery business. Born on October 16, 1950, Bert's journey began with Steele's Market in Fort Collins, founded by his father in 1942. Taking over in 1978, Bert brought his passion for family and service to the forefront.

Established in 2002, Niwot Market stands as a testament to Bert's unwavering commitment to community and customer satisfaction. His legacy is characterized by a profound understanding of evolving needs, a readiness to accommodate special requests, and a steadfast dedication to hard work.

Meet The Owners

Alison Steele

STORE MANAGER / OWNER

Alison runs the grocery department and is in charge of the purchasing and bringing in of new products. She’s always happy purchasing and ordering new products on request so don’t hesitate to ask! Before working at the store, she was a 5th grade teacher and decided to leave that to help run the family business.

Seth Steele

DELI & MEAT MANAGER / OWNER

Seth runs the deli and meat departments at Niwot Market. He’s worked in the family business since high school and started in produce. Not only is he the manager, he’s also a great chef and helps prepare the pre-made foods. If you would like any specialty meat items, please contact Seth.
